Innovative Approaches And Methods In Language Learning
Abstract
This article explores innovative language learning approaches and methods, emphasising their relevance in the context of rapidly evolving educational technologies and global communication demands. Traditional teaching methods, which are often centred on grammar translation and rote memorisation, are increasingly inadequate for developing communicative competence in diverse real-world contexts. This study therefore examines contemporary pedagogical innovations, such as task-based learning, blended learning, gamification and the integration of artificial intelligence tools in language instruction. Particular attention is given to learner-centred approaches that promote autonomy, critical thinking and interactive engagement. The research highlights how digital platforms and adaptive learning systems can enhance personalised learning experiences by enabling learners to progress at their own pace while receiving immediate feedback. Furthermore, the article analyses the role of social interaction through virtual exchanges and collaborative projects as a key factor in improving language proficiency and intercultural competence. The findings suggest that effectively implementing innovative methods increases motivation and retention, and aligns language education with 21^(st)-century skills. This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on modernising language pedagogy in formal and informal learning environments.
